Location: Macquarie Centre food court, Macquarie Park NSW (opened March 2026).
Application: customer-facing self-order kiosks and a staff POS terminal at the counter.
Product: APAS-HA-P400 POS mount with angled head.Note: Part of our Retail POS range, APAS-HA-P400 and APA is sold from, and stocked in, Atdec Australia. It is not carried in our North American and UK warehouses.
The challenge
Quick-service restaurants live and die by throughput. In a busy food court, every customer who orders at a self-service kiosk frees up counter staff to prepare and hand over food, so operators increasingly want several ordering points in a very small footprint.
Purpose-built kiosk enclosures are one way to get there, but they are expensive, bulky, and tied to specific hardware. A simpler path is a standard touch screen on a commercial-grade mount: lower cost, faster to deploy, and easy to swap or upgrade as ordering hardware changes.
Why it works for quick-service
- Universal VESA compatibility means the operator is not locked into any kiosk vendor; screens can be replaced or upgraded without touching the mounts.
- The angled head puts the display where customers expect it, tilted toward the user, without the cost or footprint of a kiosk enclosure.
- A fixed post with concealed cabling and included fixing hardware stands up to constant public use in a food court environment.
- The same mount serves customer-facing and staff-facing devices, so a single SKU covers the whole counter.
- Like all Atdec products, the APAS-HA-P400 carries a 10-year warranty, a long service life that matters when fit-outs are amortised over a lease period.
The takeaway
Self-order kiosks do not have to mean proprietary enclosures and six-figure fit-outs. A commercial touch screen on the right mount delivers the same customer experience at a fraction of the cost, and Pappa Flock's Macquarie Centre counter shows the approach working in one of Sydney's busiest food courts.
